  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university 
  • 4-5 years of experience in local activation or similar industry 
  • Analytical thinking

  • Technical Skills 
  • Exhibit proficiency with computer programs, but specifically Excel

  • Proficient knowledge of media math (equivalized vs. pure ratings, demo translations, reweighting, etc.) 
  • Proficient knowledge of media terminology concepts and their application (VPVH, CPM, TRP, network universe vs. national universe, estimates vs. actuals) 
  • Verbal/Written Communication skills 
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely and present orally in an articulate and confident manner 
  • Ability to effectively and comfortably communicate and interact with clients and vendors

The Supervisor, Local Investment, is an integral part of our Buying process for our Walt Disney account.  This role supports and serves as a key advisor to the media teams and includes direct contact with clients.  He/she will be our clients’ strategic consultant aiding in the development and analysis of their targets, marketing goals and competitive challenges, while coordinating with the Planning team.  


Responsibilities include:  


He/she ensures the day-to-day maintenance of the account is handled efficiently which includes some of the following: 


  • Ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day activity and work of Junior Negotiators and Negotiators, including training and supervision 
  • Develop upfront planning costs in tandem with the AMD for the planning team 
  • Oversee the stewardships and post buy analyses prepared by the Negotiators 
  • Actively participate in Pre-Upfront strategies and recommendations  
  • Define and improve work processes and put action plans in place to ensure quality work is produced on time and per expectations 
  • Maintain and track season to date information 
  • Track and manage the Needs/Owns, keeping detailed records of money shifting across quarters, networks and clients 
  • Build close and trusted client and network relationships with all levels  
  • Issue daypart schedules 
  • Assist AMD with Upfront and scatter negotiations by ensuring client deal points (weight goals, flighting, sponsorships) are met 
  • Stay informed about marketplace conditions (pricing, sell out levels, competition) and marketing opportunities 
  • Check all research and analyze data (i.e. television ratings/programming and industry/marketplace/technology trends) for local activation management and strategy teams 
  • Keep abreast of industry trends through advertising and media trade journals
