We are tasked with leading the evolution of our client’s data-driven marketing across the globe, developing guidelines for integrated planning, governing investment reporting to inform the roll-out plans for global strategic initiatives, leveraging our Alliance capabilities and investment to coordinate global deals and incentives, and working closely with creative agencies and Digital partners to establish best practices for the brand that can be applied across markets.

 

A successful Manager, Global Strategy must be able to deliver on the clients’ marketing and learning objectives through strong governance and with the coordination of best practice strategy rooted in insights. This individual is a day-to-day liaison between the global client team and local agency teams. They will build and maintain strong relationships with local market leads to ensure clients have a clear line of sight into the evolution of media strategy in each market and a clear understanding of progress against the roll-out of initiatives in key markets. They will liaise with other internal agency groups/team, as well as serve as a leading voice of OMG’s global strategic capabilities. They will be tasked to manage up to associate director and supervise the junior team members’ day-to-day activities, including supporting the growth of junior members as digital media professionals.

Qualifications

Experience Needed

  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of media planning experience; integrated experience and global team experience strongly desired
  • Working understanding of media concepts, measurement, and methodology
  • Track record of organization, leadership, accountability, and strong relationships
  • Experience developing thought leadership, guidelines, and POV’s demonstrating strategic thinking, creativity, and solid decision-making
  • Proven media planning, project management and presentation skills (internally and to clients)
  • Displays perseverance and action orientation
  • Bachelor’s degree (Communications, Advertising, Media, or related field preferred)

Abilities & Technical Fields

  • Proven analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills, including ability to translate data into well-articulated ideas and ability to articulate objectives, opportunities, and techniques
  • Experience building audience strategy and/or audiences for activation preferred
  • Media, syndicated research, and proprietary analytics tools proficiency preferred – i.e., MRI, Nielsen, Kantar, ComScore, Advance Excel, Tableau
  • Ability to identify issues and solutions as well as anticipate consequences
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team; prioritizing and delegating with clear verbal and written instruction as needed

Responsibilities

Relationship + Knowledge Cultivator

  • Support senior team members in managing global partner relationships to foresee future needs and provide ongoing client support
  • Compile and interpret media research for use in development of strategic guidelines
  • Seeks out information to remain current on media trends and collect/share market knowledge to scale best practice
  • Meet with global Digital partners to further service existing relationships and evaluate progress against global strategic initiatives
  • Train and assist in the development of Strategists and Assistant Strategists in the areas of digital marketing and technology; may have some direct reports

Analytical Thinker

  • Establishes effective client relationships, managing day to day questions, and developing appropriate courses of action
  • Analyze historical and current strategic initiatives to optimize learning and ensure continuous improvement
  • Process and analyze competitive media activity in the marketplace

Process Focused

  • Support senior team members in developing and implementing planning frameworks and assessing internal resources alignment with client’s digital/data evolution
  • Oversee governance of media plans reflecting budget changes and ensuring consistency and accuracy of investment, flowchart and performance reporting depicting current media activity for 6 markets
  • Ability to articulate and respond to client’s business challenges, as well as develop and manage workflows against team resourcing/scope of work
  • Establishes timetables for development of roll-out plans and manages expectations on deliverables
